Welcome to Grounds for Thought, the local new & used bookstore! The store might be a little messy, but the employees know where everything is (...mostly, at least), and there's something for everybody here. There's a desk near the back where you can donate your old, unwanted books — and perhaps even get a little spare change! In addition to books, the store also carries notebooks, calendars, postcard prints, and other writerly knick-knacks. There are some exceptionally squishy chairs scattered here and there for readers to kick back for a while, or for writers to get into the creative zone. Also, there's a small cafe attached to the store. The selection is quite slim, but certainly emphasizes quality over quantity! On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings, there are occasionally coffeehouse performances or poetry slams. Every once in a while, when the stars align, local and visiting writers will drop by to do signings and/or Q&A's as well.
