[He would never be a hero without a quirk, that's just how the world is. It's not fair and it's not just, but the world is like that sometimes.
But despite that he still wants to help people. There's ways to help heroes, even if you aren't one yourself. And so Izuku goes and tests into the support path in U.A., he's smart and can think well on his feet. Not to mention he has a running portfolio on all the active heroes within the last decade, and notes on some of the up and comers after the sports festival.
He's not nearly as showy as Mei, doesn't have the same pile of discarded creations. But what he does have is steady hands and creations that have a lot of love and effort poured into them. He might not be a hero, but the support staff is something indispensable for a hero.
It's just too bad that the person he got paired up with is his childhood friend. The rest of his class picked the heroes they wanted much faster than him.
This'll be difficult, but he needs to prove he can work with people.]
Okay, Kacchan. I haven't really seen you since the Sports Festival.
[ It is not a date, probably, maybe. Bakugou is not a master of social interactions, so he doesn't want to make that call. In fact, it'd be pretty accurate to say that he hasn't really tried to care about social interactions for a long, long time and when he does care about them, it's totally unintentional.
All of this to say that all of the snide faces and comments that his so-called "friends" levied in his general direction when he said he would go visit Rakka in her world were not appreciated. He didn't think of it as a date when he decided to, it was them that put the idea in his head. He just wanted a nice nature-filled walk and maybe to hold hands or something. He needs better friends.
And now here he is, waiting for Rakka to come by and guide them on a relaxing walk, doing the exact opposite of relaxing and looking abnormally stressed. He would be sorry for all of this, Rakka, except he's hardly ever sorry for anything... ]
[It might be a date. Maybe. Probably not. Rakka didn't know for certain if she had ever been one one like that before, memory loss was a fickle thing in that regard. Never know what you did in your previous life, or whatever she was before being a Haibane.
Visits from her Graceside friends had always been a pleasure of Rakka's. After definitely the worst experience of her life, knowing her friends wanted to keep in touch was nice! Bakugou was included in that statement. Maybe especially Bakugou. He was making this effort and she couldn't be happier.
It's just a walk, after all. Through the picturesque Glie countryside. and Oldhome made for a good meeting point, the old, stone schoolhouse was the only thing around for miles. Really good for when you didn't have a home address, which Rakka didn't.]
Bakugou! [And here she is now, coming down to meet him.] You made it!
[ This is probably some kind of AU where Karma doesn't exist because can the E class really handle two all-around geniuses with terrible personalities... anyway, as strange as the situation is, Bakugou thinks that probably — most likely — this is the most interesting school life he could've asked for.
That said, he still doesn't enjoy the stuff like school festivals and other things that suggest obligatory festivity and fully intended on skipping out with helping on the day of — which is why, he presumes, Nagisa has shown up in the early morning just outside the school grounds to intercept him. ]
[Nagisa isn't really sure why he has to do this... He'd taken note of Bakugou's general surliness and unhelpfulness regarding the festival, and when he brought it up to sensei he was asked to handle it.
So here he is, coming to retrieve the school's biggest problem child.]
It's not like we're getting graded for the school festival.
[ Therefore: not a real obligation.
But Bakugou seems wary about darting away; he is fairly certain Nagisa isn't going to make it easy, and he's still gauging what the path of least resistance is here. ]
[ That special time of the semester is just around the corner: finals week. Bakugou is unruffled for tests in general, he's never been the type to get jitters over exams, but this class also involves a final group project — Bakugou is pretty sure professors do stuff like this just to torture their poor students.
So here they are, gathered together in one of the college dorm's common rooms late on a Friday afternoon (Friday afternoon, when the normal thing to do would be to wind down, but that's neither here nor there) and stood up by the third group project member. To put it lightly, Bakugou does not look pleased. To put it accurately, he looks like he could commit murder with the pen that he's gripping and not blink an eye. ]
[ keigo rarely froze up over exams anymore, either, but that didn't mean he approached them with poise. despite his resolve to be a better student than he'd been in high school, he was still utterly disinterested with schoolwork on the whole. but, at the very least, he was far more diligent when it came to group work. after all, he didn't want to be the one to drag a team down, as much as he hated the work itself.
being paired up with someone like bakugou was really a test in and of itself, too. keigo tried to be as laid back as possible, but when their third member decided to faff off without so much as a warning, he was fairly certain he'd be responsible with cleaning up a bloodbath, with how intensely bakugou reacted to it.
offering up a nervous laugh, keigo rubbed at his neck and gave a shrug. hopefully he wouldn't be the substitute target, in this case... ]
[ well, keigo couldn't exactly argue with that. he frowned, watching as the poor defenseless pen was put to an entirely different test... a test of strength... somehow, keigo felt he wouldn't have survived as valiantly as the pen did. ]
A-ahaha... that's true...
[ disagreeing with bakugou wasn't a smart move. ]
Well, what... should we do? You wanna keep waiting for him or you wanna just finish up?

[ For a few moments, it looks like Bakugou's poor pen is about to snap in half... but then he lets go of it and it clatters to the table.
Maybe he's going to actually chop the guy's arm off, who knows. ]
